Space communication is a very interesting and challenging engineering discipline. Free space loss, atmospheric losses, solar and galactic noise, and system temperature are just a few parameters that we have to fightwith. The bigger and more expensive the better is the rule of thumb here. Nonetheless, my endeavours in this field focus on poor man's space comm equipment.
